'I bought a new SSD from Amazon, thinking that I can replace my old hard drive disk with an SSD when I upgrade my computer to Windows 10. But I don’t know how I can do it. Any positive suggestions? It’s urgent!'

How to Install Windows 10 on SSD

No matter you choose to get the old Windows system installed on the SSD and then upgrade your computer to Windows 10 or migrate the new Windows 10 partition to the new SSD after a successful Windows 10 upgrade, you need a partition manager. EaseUS partition tool is the one can help you install Windows 10 on SSD through these two ways with ease.

Note: The operation of migrating OS to SSD or HDD will delete and remove all existing partitions and data on your target disk. If you saved important data there, back up them to an external hard drive in advance.

Step 1: Run EaseUS Partition Master, select 'Migrate OS' from the top menu.

Step 2: Select the SSD or HDD as the destination disk and click 'Next'.

Warning: the data and partitions on the target disk will be deleted. Make sure that you've backed up important data in advance. If not, do it now.

Then click 'Migrate' and 'OK' to continue.

Step 3: Preview the layout of your target disk. You can also click the disk layout options to customize the layout of your target disk as you want. Then Click 'OK' to continue.

Step 4: A pending operation of migrating OS to SSD or HDD will be added. Click the 'Execute Operation' button and click 'Apply' to start migrating your OS to a new disk.

Thank you for your interest in using Windows 10 Technical Preview.

Windows 10 Technical Preview works great on the same hardware that powers Windows 8.1. If your PC can run Windows 8.1, you’re good to go.

Hi, I also have a pavilion x2 detachable pc with 10' screen.

I've downloaded & put on a usb key (with rufus) & I can't get the pc to boot on the USB key.

IT tells me it's not bootable.

I've read that I should disable secure boot but each time I choose to access the bios settings, it discards my choice and boots directly into windows :(

Thanks for your help

If USB key is not bootable then it is not, change it with another one. It is good even 4 GB size.

How I work:

First I try to format USB as NTFS.

Second, I write ISO with Windows USB DVD tool - Link:

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/windows-usb-dvd-download-tool

Third:

On First screen is shown (boot up sequence) which key to press for boot menu choice,

depending on vendor it is F12, F8 or F11. So, you don't need to change bios settings.

From my experience many laptops and netbooks starting first from USB device by default.
