Voter Id Download Online

Voters’ ID is one of the most valuable documents an Indian citizen should possess. It not only gives the citizen the right to vote, it is also a sole proof of his/her nationality. According to the constitution of India, every Indian citizen over the age of 18 years is eligible to apply and acquire a Voters’ ID card and cast his/her vote in the elections.

On the other hand, the voters’ ID is also a very important and useful identity and address proof document. The majority of the institution both government and private accept this document as a proof of identity, address, and age. However, with the introduction of Aadhaar card, the role of voters ID will be limited to election purpose only. With all these being said, here are the pre-requisite for applying voters’ ID in Assam and the step by step procedure for applying, tracking status and downloading the voters’ ID online.

Pre-requisite

  • Scanned copy of the applicant’s Passport size photo
  • Scanned copy of Age proof
  • Scanned copy of Address proof

Documents eligible

  • Age Proof – Birth Certificate, Driving license, High school mark sheet, PAN card, Aadhaar letter issued by the UIDAI, andPassport.
  • Address proof – Passport, Ration card, Driving license, Land phone bill, Electricity bill, Gas bill, Rent Agreement, Income tax assessment bill, letter or post delivered by the Indian postal department and Water Authority bills

Here is the step by step procedure for applying voters’ ID online at Assam

PS: Even though it is mentioned as the online method, it is actually a partial online and offline method. Currently, this is how the application procedure of voters’ ID in Assam is set up.

Step 1: Visit the Official website of Chief Election Office of Assam or click here ceoassam.nic.in

Step 2: On the home screen, on the left side you will find the option “Download forms” select this option

Step 3: Now, from the drop-down menu select the option “Form 6”

Step 4: Form 6 appears on the screen, now select the language from the drop-down menu on the screen. Now, print the form.

Step 5: Fill in the form as requested. Now after filling in the form. Attach the required documents that include passport size photo, Address proof, and Identity proof.

Step 6: Now, carefully fold the form and the documents and you have two options.

  1. Sent by post
  2. Visit the nearest election office and submit by a person

Step 7: Once, you submit the form and documents. An application number will be provided. Keep safe this application number and the acknowledgement slip provided.

Once all the above-mentioned procedure is completed, the application process will be initiated and a Booth Level Officer will visit your address and verify the details submitted on the form. On successful verification, within 30 days the voters’ ID will be delivered to you. Meanwhile, you can track the status of the application and download the voters’ ID.

Here is the step by step procedure to track the application status and download the temporary voters’ ID. PS: The official website of the CEO Assam does not offer this feature. However, the National Voters’ Services Portal can be used check if the applicants name has been added to the voters’ list and if the name is added the page can be printed or saved and can be used as temporary voters’ ID. Both downloading and tracking can be done with this same procedure.

Step 1: Visit the National Voters’ Services Portal or click here http://www.nvsp.in/

Step 2: Now, on the “National Voter’s Services Portal” home screen, you will find a heading on the right side “Citizen Information” and two options below it. select the option “Booth, AC, and PC”

Step 3: Now, on the fill-up form that appears on the screen fill in all the details carefully and click the “Search” button.

If the voters’ ID card is generated and the name is added to the voters’ list the page will display your name below the form, click the name and voters’ detail appear on the screen. On the down bottom, you will find the option to print the information. Click this option to save or print the details.
